If you can feel air coming through the crack while playing, you definitely need to repair the crack. Crying or Very Sad It will have a big effect on sound quality. Mad

Another trick to keep the crack from spreading is to wet some rawhide and stretch it, then wrap it tightly around the didj. As it dries, it will shrink and tighten. Also, the rawhide doesn't look to bad when in place.
