I guess that I would not know what catagory my explorations would fall into. The outcome of didj playing is so individualistic, unless one is guided. I am, as far as I know, am the only didj player in a 40-50 mile range. So I have no point of reference. I would love to be pointed in the direction of "tradition" style playing in cd's or website samples.

I am straight up contemporary.

In listening to Traditionl playing, by native players, it has been clear to me that I have no idea about their:

a: timing
b: breathing
c: storytelling styles
d: language(the basis of their playing)

I am happy playing my style.

Keep making strange sounds,

While my target may be traditional yolgnu style what I end up playing can only be classifyed as warner style contemporary. The Milikay cd is a great resource as the Djalu is too hard to follow as it is assumed you know the basics- so the order of listening to the two is important.

contemporary, since i've never had lessons from any aboriginal people (or from anyone at all, really). i like to just start playing and see what rhythms present themselves. it's more fun that way.
