I saw the last part of this movie today on TV. The concept of Dreamtime as a parallel world of existence plays an important role in the plot development. I'm programmed the DVR to record it the next time it comes on so I can watch the entire movie.
David Gulpilil and Nandjiwarra Amagula are the main aboriginal actors. There is didjeridoo music in the sound track.
Does anyone know if this is the same Nandjiwarra Amagula that appears as an artist if you Google the name?
I've always liked didjeridoo music, ever since I first heard it. My daughter bought me an inexpensive one for my birthday. I tried didje-ing for a while, and this movie has renewed my interest. The cyclical breathing is a challenge!

OK bear with me, its my first post...
-- Guide to Australian Aboriginal Art: The Symbols Their Meanings & Some Dreamtime Stories --
Good book to check out if you wanted to decorate your Didje, but didn't want to cross any cultural boundries... It's a booklet and is very cheap, but a good starting point.
-- Songlines Bruce Chatwin--
'A songline is an Aboriginal concept. In the dreamtime, each ancestor as they walked through the land, singing it into being, left behind them a dreaming track or songline.'

Hi, all,
In this section of the forum we would like to you tell us about books about Aboriginal culture/issues or the didjeridoo or movies that have Aboriginal actors or didjeridoo sounds or images.
What you need to do is give the title, the reason it should be included here, and a brief review of the book or movie. If you are the first to add any given book or movie you will receive an additional competition entry to the Didjshop drawing.
Good luck to you all.
