Hi all
New member here. I'm putting together the list of equipment i need to do a live performance set, involving looping didj's and triggering drums.
I'm looking for a solution to mic up 3 didgeridoos on stage. I want as minimal equipment as possible. So dont want to have 3 didj stands n 3 mic stands!
1 does anyone know of a stand which allows me to have multi didjs on.
2 does anyone have expirience attaching mics to the end of didjs, a clip onto the end of the bell for example.
hope somebody can help.
Many thanks

I have noted that the really good didjes resonate for a few seconds after you quit playing. To hear this, quit blowing and turn your ear to the mouth piece. All my didjshop high concert sticks have this quality. I believe this resonance also helps playing very softly, almost to the point where you can't hear, but the stick continues to vibrate at extremely low air flow. I value this bottom dynamic as much as rated loudness. Some really good sticks have great dynamic range, from a whisper to a roar.... but not all, I have a very good high G that plays loudly and resonates well, but can't really be played at a whisper. Still this high G continues to resonate after I quit blowing, so contradicts my thought that resonance helps playing softly ... maybe it is related to length?
Just some observation for those interested! bongo, USA

Hey guys,
I have been practicing bounce breathing for a while but then didn't have time to play anymore due to family problems and other things. I have been going through rough time but recently I picked up the didge again and tried to bounce. Since I have no reference at the moment, no one to tell me right or wrong I need your judgement. Do you think this is ok? I kinda think I am doing something wrong. You know the quick inhale doesn't come automatically. I still have to concentrate and everytime I do inhale the sound changes for a second...maybe you have an explanation.
Any comments more than welcome...

I've been trying to post to my original message but for some reason I keep getting a error message that states I followed a wrong link, so I figure I'll try a new post.
(Bazza) Barry, Here's the sound bite you asked on my progress. The first is a 1min 30sec drone to show you my CBing. The other rhythms that I'll post next are one's I learned from watching Markus Meurer on YouTube. Sorry for the bad sound quality I'm sure it'll get better.
Regards
Mario

Hello all,
After a pause and many many months of practicing I worked out the sixth episode in my Bible Didj Project. I used a new low G and a new E didge this time, PC synthesizers, a new acoustic guitar and a recorder (the cheap flute). I invested in better hardware and the recording was done in 24 bits/96 KHz.
As always I am not perfectly satisfied and could use some hints.
There is a spiritual/symbolical meaning to everything I record. I suggest that purely religious comments could better be done using private mail. Personally I have some doubts if the E didge conveys much of what it intends to do.
You find the new piece on the page mentioned at the footage.
On that page are also explanations of the symbolism used (and a link to my email address).
Best regards,
Clemens van Brunschot

I hope I'm allowed to ask about where to find a cd on the forum. If not, I apologize. I picked 'Advanced Playing', because, well, it is. Anyway, I wondered if anyone knew an outlet that is selling Resonance by Sands and Cloake (1997?). I've looked around an haven't found a place. I've heard a few samples and would really like to hear more and work towards playing like that (any pointers to techniques they use would be quite appreciated as well). I play djembe regularly and my drumming partner is quite willing to mix in the didge but I want to improve my chops so I don't scare him away.

First of all: Hi all I'm new here haha...
I've got a question about integrating high pitched barks into a fitting rhythm... In about 4 weeks I've got my first group performance. In that performance, there is also a space left for a solo for each player...
Even tho I can manage to get my howls, barks etc. out, I dont get them out as strong as I'd like when trying to building them into a rythm.
For some reason it just get's softer/lower.. I dont know if it has got anything to do with my natural bary white soundalike bassy voice when regularly talking lol..
But I was just wondering if there are some people here that can hand me a very basic rythm with integrated vocals which I can practice, and so I can get a feel about how it's supposed to be done?
(Ofcource this question has all to do with spicing up my first solo performance haha) I just want to learn something new to push myself more to the limit and keep it interesting...
My own idea was to build it up.. so starting with a flat drone, going into overtones, growl a bit, building it up to a huge tension with a large scream.... And then starting with a tight rhythm (so far I still can manage it).. Now only where to put the "barks" and especially what the easiest word is to "shout in" to get the highest pitched bark which is short, fast, and closed, so I can keep the same rythm easily so it will fit in the piece ... I hope I'm clear enough so you can get an idea of what I''m trying to achieve ....
Greetings Wolfie
