Dear Friends,

I just drunk my first traditional mate and I must say that I am very surpised by the taste of it. I would have never thought it would be this bitter. Normaly I use about 3 theespoons for a cup and now with my own gourd I use up to 5 dinnerspoons of mate. The taste is really overwelming and I was wondering how I can make it a bit more subtle. I have atached a pciture of how full my gourd is when I fill it with mate and water. Is this the right way to do it? I now use half a litter of hot watter with 3 spoons of honing but it just doesn't break the bitterness at all. Suggestions are very welcome.
