I recently got my hands on a didge but not sure thats its quite how it should be...
Theres a very noticable layer of black residue, presumably left over by the termites, coating the inside of the didge. At the mouth peice end my slobber has softened it and i find that it just rubs off very easily with the tip of my finger. Though at the bell end its pretty hard, but brittle and could be removed with a bit of a soak and a good sized bottle brush.
I'm wondering if it should or shouldn't be there, as if its going to have an effect on the sound quality of the instrument.
Anyone have any experience of this?
Cheers
Chris.
