The culmination of several years' hard work and excellent scholarship, with interviews from some of the most well-known Yolngu leaders in the Miwatj region of Arnhem Land. Cultural perspectives and insights into didjeridu, song, dance and the visual arts:

DISCLAIMER: Didjshop recommends this link due to the wealth of information on this site.
We support the Yolngu as one of many Aboriginal tribes and congratulate them on their success (and we love Yothu Yindi!), however we believe that many disadvantaged and impoverished Aboriginal communities of Arnhemland and northern Australia would prefer if the worldwide didgeridoo interest would not focus on just one tribe while ignoring them (many other tribes do not have money or expertise for a website). So when you read through the valuable information provided, we ask you to please be aware that yirrkala.com promotes only one Aboriginal tribe at the expense of all others, who also consider the didgeridoo to be part of their heritage and culture. Thank you.
